Scenery on the ranch

Notice the palm tree growing out of the trunk of the tree.

These are flowers that are growing in the canals.

These are the trees that are growing next to our house. Notice the Spanish moss hanging.

This how the palm trees look as they go off “to market.”

These are wild palm trees and is within walking distance of our house. They are being cut down and then shipped to landscapers to replant –probably to be placed in front of beautiful hotels or along freeways!!! That is one of the commercial ventures that the ranch leases out.

I could not make this picture turn the right direction -- so tilt your head.

As you can see, the foliage is very thick and that is the natural habitat. So, it has taken a lot of work to clear all of this land for pastures.

This is the Penneywash River, but it is pronounced by the locals as “penneywaah.”
